YON 2020 Day 203: Heather Edwards, MSN, RN, LSN, NCSN

As the Clinical Coordinator for Woodridge Local Schools, Heather Edwards, MSN, RN, LSN, NCSN, wears many hats. Her program, operated through Akron Children's Hospital School Health Services Department, has her caring for medically fragile students, students with chronic illnesses (diabetes, asthma, seizures, etc.) and overseeing on-site services, such as dental and immunization clinics. Edwards also serves as a first aid educator for teachers and staff. School nurses promote healthy communities and work to bridge the gap between homes, school and healthcare providers.
